Nikolaus Benecke

Nikolaus has dealt with corporate transactions since his studies. His diploma thesis dealt with the due diligence process in the context of corporate transactions.


From 1997 to 2000 Nikolaus worked for the auditing and tax consultancy firm Arthur Andersen as an audit and project manager and was responsible for various annual audits, prospectus audits, due diligence audits and consulting mandates.


From the beginning of 2000 to the end of 2002 he was an investment manager in a venture capital company and built up a portfolio of investment companies.


In 2003 he founded specTra with two other partners and invested with private investors in medium-sized companies in special situations.


During this time he also took on responsibility on the advisory boards of the portfolio companies.


From 2013 to 2019 he was CEO of one of his affiliated companies and was responsible for the restructuring and development of the company.


Nikolaus studied business administration in Bamberg and Düsseldorf and completed commercial training as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk at OTTO Versand in Hamburg.


Nikolaus is a founding partner and managing partner of specTra.


He is the father of two grown sons and lives in Munich.


He prefers to spend his free time in the mountains and in Italy.
